Ballari Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer K.V. Rajendra exhorted students to imbibe competitive spirit which would help in shaping their future.

He was speaking at the annual day celebrations of Jindal Vidya Mandir at JSW Vidyanagar Township in Torangal on Thursday.

Four girls from the economically weaker sections of society residing in nearby villages identified by Jindal Vidya Mandir, were given a cheque of ₹ 10,000 each to pursue their education.

Vinod Nowal, Deputy Managing Director, JSW Steels Ltd., Rajashekhar Pattanashetty, president, JSW Steels Ltd., Manjunath Prabhu, senior vice-president, HRD, JSW Steels Ltd., and B. Kumaraswamy, school principal, were among those present. A variety of cultural and entertainment programmes by schoolchildren that followed won the applause of the audience.
