Boy confined to hostel room, thrashed; two held
tnn | Jan 14, 2019, 04:00 ISTRajkot: The rector of a hostel and its staff were arrested on Saturday night for allegedly confining a student to his room and physically assaulting him for the past two days in Vihar Society on Lathi Road in Amreli.
In his complaint, Vijay Vyas, father of the victim, identified as Manish Vyas (11), said that Manish, who lives in Vidhyasabha Sankul Hostel, was allegedly confined to his room and beaten up by the hostel rector Ashwin Rokad (42) and his aide Ashish Thumar (21). While Rokad is resident of Keria Road in Amreli, Thumar lives in the hostel.
“Following the complaint, we have arrested the accused and booked them under the Juvenile Act,” said an official from Amreli police station. tnn
