GREATER NOIDA: A 35-year-old man working at a construction site in Greater Noida’s Jarcha was killed when a crane placing huge cement pipes along a river stream lost balance under the weight of the pipe and overturned on him. Brijesh Kumar, the driver of one of the two cranes at the site, had stepped out of the machine and was allegedly monitoring the work when one of the cranes crushed him to death.
Brijesh was from Balkheda village in Aligarh and operated a crane for a local contractor in Jarcha. The accident occurred on Friday, when around 10 labourers and two cranes were placing cement pipes along the river stream. The cranes were placing the pipes while the labourers were harnessing them to the machines and giving directions to the drivers.
