For not finding a suitable match and for deficiency in services, the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum has asked the matrimonial firm- Wedding Wish Private Limited to refund an amount of Rs 82,800 and pay a compensation of Rs 10,000 and Rs 7,000 as cost of litigation.However, as per reports, the firm has been penalized in such cases in past too. The forum, in its order, said that the company had certainly indulged in unfair trade practice causing mental and physical harassment to the complainant.

It ordered that in view of the present consumer complaint being partly allowed, the pending application(s), if any, also stands disposed off. As per the complaint filed by Neetu Sood, resident of sector 47-C, Chandigarh, the complainant said that she had availed the services of the firm, by paying a total sum of Rs 92,000 on December 29, 2016 and January 9, 2017, in lieu whereof the firm was to provide 27 profiles of suitable candidates in the account of the complainant for a period of 12 months starting from January 6 2017 under royal gold membership.
