‘WoW’ bus to benefit underprivileged kids

Rajkot: The kids of Rajkot are likely to exclaim ‘wow’, when they see a specially designed bus ‘Wisdom on Wheel’ (WoW) equipped with the state-of-the art facilities such as five laptops, a projector, a magnetic white board, electronic toys and colours for painting on Monday.
“The main objective of the WoW project, conceptualized by Narendra Modi when he was chief minister, is to bring knowledge to the doorsteps of underprivileged children. The WoW bus will visit those areas that were marked to have underprivileged children after a survey was conducted,” said a press release issued by the Rajkot district administration.

Apart from the children, the project also aims to sensitize the children’s parents to various issues such as education, health, development of a child, cleanliness and social awareness.

“There will be a kiosk erected in the bus with a projector to impart knowledge to the kids and their parents. There will be a special session on star gazing. That apart, a sanitary napkin wending machine has also been put up in the bus from where women will be able to take out the napkin without any hitch. The women will also be taught how to make sanitary napkins,” added the release.
