FTII to hold admission seminar today in city

PUNE: The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Pune will be holding an admission seminar on Sunday (January 13) at the institute from 11 am to 1 pm. The institute has been organising such seminars in cities and towns across the country since last year to orient the students for the Joint Entrance Test (JET) for admissions to FTII and Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) Kolkata.

Questions pertaining to education at FTII as well as JET admission process will be addressed in the upcoming seminar. No prior registration is required to attend the seminar, which is open to all. It will be held from 11 am to 1 pm on Sunday at the Preview Theatre in FTII Pune. The JET will be conducted on February 24, and the last date to apply is January 31. The interested candidates can apply online at https://applyadmission.net/jet2019/.

To reach out to more aspirants across the country, such admission seminars have been planned at 12 locations. Mumbai, Banasthali Vidyapeeth in Jaipur, Pune, Nagpur, Delhi, Lucknow, Jammu, Bhopal, Patna, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, and Dehradun will be hosting such seminars over the coming weeks. These sessions will be conducted by FTII representatives comprising of faculty and alumni.

Candidates, who seek admission to FTII and SRFTI, need to go through a multi-stage selection process. The first stage in this selection process is the all-India level written examination JET, which will be conducted at 26 centres across India.         

Based on the JET 2019 score of the candidates, FTII and SRFTI will send call letters to the candidates for the second stage of the selection process. Thereafter, on successful accomplishment of all the requisites, students will be admitted in their full time regular programmes for the academic year 2019.
