BEST strike enters Day 5, union leaders to go to Mantralaya today

MUMBAI: The BEST strike entered Day 5 on Saturday, the longest bus strike in Mumbai.
According to BEST muster, only one bus driver reported for duty on Saturday morning and not a single bus is on the road.
Leaders of the BEST Workers’ Union are expected to meet officials from state government at Mantralaya at 11 am. The government has formed a committee headed by chief secretary to look into the issues of BEST workers.
The strike has inconvenienced about 25 lakh daily commuters and the BEST has incurred losses to the tune of over Rs 12 crore so far.
