Man, minor arrested on rape charges near Ranchi

RANCHI: Two persons were arrested in Tatisilwai area near here on Friday for allegedly raping two minor girls for seven days.
One of the accused has been identified as Manish Kumar, a resident of Tatisilwai, who along with a minor, who held the girls in captivity and sexually exploited them.
The girls had gone missing on January 2 and an FIR was registered at Jagannathpur police station on January 7 based on the statement by the mother of one of the survivors.
Jagannathpur police station in-charge Anil Karmakar said: “We had registered a case of human trafficking on January 7 after one of the mother of one of the girls approached us. A case under Sections 365 and 371 of IPC were registered.”
The survivors told that one of them were friends with the minor accused for some time. On January 2, the accused had lured her to join them for a picnic in Tantisilwai.
After both the girls reached the spot they were held captive and raped. Ranchi (rural) SP Ashutosh Shekhar said, “As soon as we got the information about the missing girls, we deployed a team for their rescue. The girls have been sent for medical examinatipnthem for the medical examination.”
