Army motivates youth at 'know your army'

ALLAHABAD: As part of Army Day celebrations, 4 Artillery Brigade under the aegis of Red Eagle Division organised an event titled ‘know your forces mela and band display’ at the Polo Ground of the city, on Saturday.
Major General Atul Rawat, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Red Eagle Division inaugurated the event which was organised with an objective to reach out to the masses especially the youth. The event was also organised to motivate the youngsters to join Indian Army and increase awareness of the general public about the capability and invaluable achievements of the Army.
The event included a magnificent band display by military pipe bands, display of wide array of military weapons and equipment, quiz competition for students, horse show and a spectacular demonstration of slithering by brave soldiers of Indian Army in coordination with India Air Force. An information kiosk about procedures for joining the Indian Army was also put up during the mela, informed defence PRO, Wing Commander Arvind Sinha.
