MoU signed with U.S.-based Lapetus Solutions Inc.

The GITAM Deemed to be University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with U.S. based spin-off company Lapetus Solutions Inc.(LSI), North Carolina on Friday, to conduct joint research to develop models in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Deep Neural Networks (DNN).

Company leaders Amrutha Seturam and Harry Atwal signed the MoU documents in the presence of GITAM In-Charge Vice-Chancellor K. Sivaramakrishna, Hyderabad Campus Pro-Vice-Chancellor N. Sivaprasad and GITAM FinTech Academy Coordinator Leben Johnson.

LSI lead modelling and algorithms, Amrutha Seturam said that the company was a leader in facial recognition models used in life event predictions and they had been developing these models for the past 15 years. The company also bagged the ‘Runner Up award’ for the best startup idea at ‘$1 Million Startup Challenge’ at Vizag FinTech Festival held in October last year.

Data management

“We need tonnes of data to validate to work effectively. We are planning to use students to help collect, collate and analyse the data,” Ms. Seturam added.
