FALL RIVER - On Jan. 13, the First Sunday after the Epiphany 2019, at United Methodist Church, 600 Highland Ave., Rev. Parent will preach the second sermon of 2019 using the scripture found in Acts 8: 14-17, titled “When the Holy Spirit Comes” This is the promised Comforter our Lord promised.  The Liturgist will read the following scriptures; ISIAH 43: 1-7, ACTS 8: 14-17, PSALM 29 and LUKE 3: 15-17, 21-22.  Worship service is followed by light refreshments, free to all in the social hall.

Sunday School meets during regular services and all children are welcome. The Sunday School program is directed by Kathy Morton- retired teacher and Lay Leader.

The Youth Group is under the leadership of Justin and Amanda Sousa for grades 5, 6, and 7.

The choir practice is each Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and 9 a.m. on Sunday before service.

The nursery is open for parents who need to use it during the service. It is not supervised by the church. Any questions or concerns, feel free to call the church at 508-676-3091, before 1 p.m. or leave a message.

On Monday evenings at 6:30 the prayer group “Sweet Hour of Prayer” meets and all are welcome.

United Methodist Church continues to support the Fall River Food Pantry and local Veterans. Open your hearts and give the gift of life and warmth to Veterans and the homeless. Gloves, socks, toiletries and all other form of clothing would be greatly appreciated by all.  Food donation items for this month are peanut butter and jelly
