A massive fire broke out at the office of Ministry of Power at CGO Complex in south Delhi’s Pragati Vihar on Saturday morning. No injury has been reported.
A fire official said that they received a call regarding the fire around 9.30 a.m. “An employee from the complex made the call and 23 fire tenders were pressed into service. The fire broke out on the first floor of Block 14 at CGO Complex where there officers of the Power Ministry sit,” said Chief Fire Officer Atul Garg.
The fire was doused by 10.30 p.m., but the cooling-off process took a few hours more. The building was completely evacuated.
“Prime facie, it appears that a short circuit led to the fire. It started from the mess area,” said a fire official.
