Lohri Celebrations at Bajaj College

Ludhiana, January 12, 2019: Bajaj College frequently organises cultural functions to strengthen the traditional roots amongst the young blood. One such festival was celebrated at Bajaj College today, Lohri which symbolizes the warmth of our relations and as an epitome of that, the Lohri bonfire was ignited by the Principal of the college. Students arrived at the college dressed up in traditional Punjabi attire and prizes were given for ‘Sunakhi mutiyaar’ for the best dressed girl to Sukhpreet Kaur from BSC- Fashion Designing and ‘Shaukeen gabru’ for the best dressed boy to Priyam Kumar from BBA. A kite flying competition was also set up to ensure maximum participation of students in which Jatin Harjai from BCOM-1st year was declared winner. The entire college was decorated colorfully bringing a lively feeling in the college campus. Students sang Punjabi folk songs and danced to the beats of the dhol. Sumanpreet and Sukhpreet won the Boliyan completion. Atul Sharma from BBA 2nd year and Sukhpreet kaur from BCOM 2nd year were the anchors for the event and Saksham and Vaibhav captured the entire event through their cameras. One minute games like groundnut breaking, kite making, etc became the centre of fun wherein Amanjot Singh and Shubham Chowdhary were the winners respectively. At last, the principal, Dr. Shikha Dhall, extended her heartiest congratulations to the students for the festival by sharing the essence of the occasion.
