Three persons, including a police officer, were injured here on Friday during a protest over the passing of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2018.
Members of six students’ bodies staged demonstrations in small batches and later marched towards the women’s markets, where they were joined by the vendors. The protesters obstructed traffic and shouted slogans when the police tried to disperse them.
The police fired tear-gas canisters and mock bombs. Two persons and a police officer suffered injuries in the clash.
