Be poll ready, Captain tells Congress leaders

PATIALA: Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh on Friday asked party leaders here to get down to ready for ensuring a big win for the Congress in impending Lok Sabha elections. The CM, who was here to preside over the oath-taking ceremony of elected members of panchayats in Patiala and Fatehgarh Sahib districts, met party MLAs from the two districts at his home after the event.


He asked the MLAs to make certain that all ongoing projects were given a final shape to boost public confidence in the party. Cabinet minister Brahm Mohindra and the CM’s wife-,former foreign minister Preneet Kaur, also attended the meeting. Party MLAs Kuljit Singh Nagra, Nirmal Singh Shutrana, Madan Lal Jalalpur, Hardiyal Kamboj and Gurpreet Singh GP were also present. Patiala mayor Sanjeev Bittu and other representatives of the Patiala MCwere also asked to contribute to poll campaign.
