Ludhiana: Man arrested with 15 kg of poppy husk

LUDHIANA: Khanna police on Friday arrested a drug peddler after recovering 15 kilograms of poppy husk from his possession. The accused was identified as 35-year-old Balwinder Singh of Jhande village in Ludhiana.
Giving details, SSP Khanna Dhruv Dahiya said that the police have started a special campaign against the drug traffickers. He added that during this campaign police party was patrolling from village Heddon via Kotla Shamshpur to village Sihala side.
While patrolling the police party saw a person with a backpack walking near Sua Puli Village in Sihala. After being stopped by the police for checking the person identified himself as Balwinder.
Cops said that upon checking his bag they recovered 15 kilograms of Poppy Husk. The accused was later booked under various sections of NDPS act at Samrala police station after which he was arrested.
