Railways organise safety seminar for employees

VADODARA: A safety seminar and staff grievance camp was conducted by the Vadodara railway division of Western Railway on Friday.

The seminar cum camp was organised at the electric loco shed at Vadodara yard under the chairmanship of divisional railway manager (DRM) of Vadodara railway division in presence of senior divisional safety officer, senior divisional electrical engineer, divisional electrical engineer, divisional electrical engineer (MEMU) and divisional personal officer of the railway division.

A total of 565 persons including officers, supervisors and staff members participated in this seminar during which emphasis was laid on personal safety and equipment safety during working in shed.

Under frame safety and care that should be taken while working in loco roof, fire, accidents were also discussed during the seminar.

Staffers, supervisors and officers shared their views on safety related issues even as they assured that all safety precautions were being taken while working at the Vadodara shed.


The DRM of Vadodara railway division Devendra Kumar emphasized on ‘injury on duty’ cases and stressed that such cases can be made ‘nil’.


Kumar also ensured to address personal grievances raised by some staffers by taking up their grievances with relevant departments.


The cash awards were given to 17 staff members of the electric loco shed of Vadodara yard on the spot for their safety consciousness.
