Share market update: Auto shares mixed; Ashok Leyland down nearly 1%
NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading on a mixed note with the Nifty Auto index down 0.13 per cent at 8922.15 in the Friday morning trading session.
Shares of Motherson Sumi Systems (up 0.56 per cent), TVS Motor Company (up 0.53 per cent), Eicher Motors (up 0.52 per cent) and Exide Industries (up 0.36 per cent) were the top performers in the index.
Ashok Leyland (down 0.89 per cent), Apollo Tyres (down 0.79 per cent), Tata Motors (down 0.71 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra (down 0.67 per cent) were trading in the red.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 1.75 points at 10,823.35 while the BSE Sensex was up 8.88 points at 36,115.38 around 10:17 am.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 23 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors, TCS, ITC, SBI, Hindalco Industries, Infosys, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, BHEL, Indian Oil Corp, Bank of Baroda, Bharti Airtel and ONGC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
