TIRUNELVELI
When AIADMK’s senior leader and MP M. Thambidurai’s tirade against the BJP is getting intense, Minister for Information and Public Relations ‘Kadabmur’ C. Raju has asserted that lotus (BJP’s symbol) would never bloom in Tamil Nadu.
“Let the BJP get more votes than NOTA in at least one Assembly constituency,” he told reporters in Kovilpatti on Friday when the reporters asked for his views on BJP State president Tamilisai Soundararajan’s remarks on “unhealthy administration by the AIADMK”.
Mr. Raju said the people of Tamil Nadu, who were reaping the benefits of the best administration being provided by the AIADMK government, alone could certify the governance.
“After party founder MGR provided 10 years of matchless governance, Jayalalithaa gave unparalleled administration for 16 years. Following in their footsteps, Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami is going to complete two years in February. So the people have given 28 long years to AIADMK as the ruling party as it has given in the past and is giving now a people-friendly administration. Hence, we’ll be in power till 2021 and will come back to power again,” Mr. Raju said.
Pointing out that the AIADMK had won 38 Parliamentary constituencies in 2014 election which it contested on its own. However, the BJP, despite its alliance, managed to bag only one seat (Kanniyakumari). The only other victory was BJP’s ally PMK’s candidate (Anbumani Ramadas) at Dharmapuri.
