BENGALURU: GT Devegowda, minister for higher education, has asked state universities to collaborate with KEA to appoint teaching staff. During the meeting of VCs, the minister recommended that recruitment exams be held by KEA. State-run universities recruit most of their academic staff as per UGC norms.
Over 3,000 posts are vacant in universities and colleges, which need to be filled by the higher education department.
"As of now, we are planning to go for one competitive exam for all universities and release the merit list for recruitment. We will come up with a proper plan soon," said Anil Kumar, principal secretary, higher education.
