Water supply in a large part of the city is expected to remain affected on Friday evening as the electricity maintenance work is scheduled to take place at Balawala Pumphouse on Friday.
Officials informed that due to the maintenance work of the electricity company at 132 KV GSS situated at Balawala pump house, the supply during the evening time may get affected. Sources informed that the maintenance work will be carried out between 10:30 am to 2:30 pm.
This would cause water supply getting affected partially and the residents of colonies mainly VKI, Murlipura, Jhotwara, Jawahar Nagar, Raja Park, Janta Colony, Tonk Road, Mansarovar area, Pratap Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Bajaj Nagar may get affected. The water from Bisalpur Dam is supplied to Jaipur through the Balawala pump house and any disturbance at this pump house results in disruption of water supply in the city.
Additional chief engineer Devraj Solanki of PHED informed that they will be managing the situation with water supply through tankers and tube wells and informed that the water supply will be normal from Saturday evening.
As such, the people of the city will have to make arrangements of water during the morning supply itself. They will have to store water during the morning supply time so that they do not face a problem in the evening.
Once the maintenance work will be over, the supply will resume. About a year back in the month of July, there had been a technical problem at the pump house which resulted in water from Bisalpur dam not being transferred to the city.
