Hailing the government's step to introduce 10% quota for economically weak upper castes, Shah says it was a demand of the country's youth for years. In his war cry to the party leaders, he says that the battle in 2019 is one between Modi and an alliance without a leader, in a reference to the mahagathandhan failing to arrive at a consensus candidate for its face.
'Duty-bound to Build Ram Mandir' | The crowd erupted in joy as BJP chief Amit Shah addressed the issue of Ram Mandir construction in Ayodhya. He said, "The BJP wants Ram Mandir at the same spot. We are duty bound to build the temple and still are. It is the Congress that is causing hurdles in the process. But we are trying to expedite the case which is currently tabled in the Supreme Court."
The BJP Chief accused the Congress of leading the country to corruption and saving the defaulters during their tenure. "Congress gave loans to Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi. All of them felt secured during their regime, which is why, they only left the country after the Modi government came to power," he said.
Listing down the Modi government's welfare projects, Amit Shah said, "Each citizen of India will be provided with a permanent house by 2022. We implemented the OROP to the Defence forces and as many as fifty crore Indians have already been benefited by the Modi government's Ayushman Bharat project."
Amit Shah Slams the Congress for 'Ignoring the Poor for 70 Years' | "Earlier, the BJP ruled in six states, but that has gone up to 16 now. We are even ready to form a government in West Bengal," Amit Shah said, adding that the Modi government has done the best work for the poor compared to the past 70 years of ignorance.
'PM Modi vs Alliance Without Leader' | Dubbing the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as a battle of two opposite ideologies, Amit Shah said that this election will be fought by PM Modi and an alliance without a face (leader). "This is the first government with an absolute majority after 30 years of coalition governments," Shah added.
'We Will See Repeat of 2014 Victory' | Assuring the party workers that the BJP's victory is definite in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Amit Shah said that the 2019 election is supremely important not only for the BJP but also for the people at large. "This election is important to continue the developmental projects initiated by PM Modi," he said.
'Reservation Bill a Demand for Years' | Referring to the nascent bill providing 10 percent reservation to the upper caste poor, Amit Shah claimed that the demand that existed for years was finally met by the BJP government under PM Modi. The BJP Chief went on to pat the Modi government for announcing benefits for the MSME in GST on Thursday and for deciding on two major issues in a week's time.
Amit Shah Inaugurates Meeting | Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Amit Shah inaugurates the party's two-day national executive meeting at Ramlila Maidan, New Delhi. Sources said the council may pass three resolutions, highlighting the government's "successes" on various fronts ranging from economy to social justice and also dwell at length on the prevailing political scenario. Senior BJP leaders were tight-lipped on whether the Ram temple issue will find a mention in the meeting but some delegates said that the party may refer to it amid demands by Hindutva organisations, including its ideological parent RSS, for a law to construct a temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya.
During the two-day convention, themed ‘Abki baar phir Modi Sarkar’, BJP leaders are expected to discuss the Modi government's achievements in the last four-and-half-years and chalk out a strategy to defeat the Congress. The Modi government's "social justice" plank with its outreach to Dalits, backward classes and general category is likely to be a key theme at the meeting as the party looks to set the tone for its Lok Sabha poll campaign.
The BJP is ready to set the tone for its campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections with its two-day National Executive meeting at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan from today. Around 12,000 workers from across the country have gathered for the event which has been inaugurated by party chief Amit Shah and will conclude with an address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
