Boy, 9, seriously injured after 4WD crashes through fence

A nine-year-old boy has been seriously injured after a four-wheel-drive rolled and smashed through a fence east of Brisbane overnight.

Emergency services were called to the crash in the Redlands suburb of Alexandra Hills just after 9pm on Thursday.

A Toyota Landcruiser and Subaru Forester collided at the intersection of Vienna Road and Wimborne Street, causing the Landcruiser to flip onto its side.

From the Landcruiser, a nine-year-old male passenger was taken to the Queensland Children's Hospital in a serious but stable condition with arm, pelvic, leg and head injuries.

A 28-year-old female passenger was in a serious but stable condition with arm, leg and head injuries while the 28-year-old male driver was in a stable condition with chest pain.

Both were taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

The 20-year-old male driver of the Forester and an 18-year-old male passenger were both taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital with minor injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit was investigating.
