Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan briefs governor on law and order situation

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan visited governor P Sathasivam at the Raj Bhavan on Thursday and apprised him of the law and order situation in the state. The meeting lasted for half an hour. The governor had sought a detailed report from the state government following the series of violence in the state on January 2 and 3 following the entry of two women of menstruating age at Sabarimala.


"The CM described the nature of the agitation and the action taken to curb the violent protests in different parts of the state. The chief minister assured the governor that stringent action will be initiated against those involved in the violent incidents, irrespective of party affiliation," said a statement issued by the Raj Bhavan.


The CM and the governor also discussed the progress of the rehabilitation of the flood affected people of the state.
