Will Rajinikant-starrer Petta be dubbed into Kannada? The answer will depend on whether the super star himself agrees to do the dubbing.

While the film was released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions in over 225 screens across Karnataka, according to Jack Manju, distributor of Petta, the decision on the Kannada version depends on whether Rajinikanth agrees to dub his voice in Kannada.

“I am meeting Rajinikanth on Friday evening and will put forward the proposal of dubbing Petta into Kannada. If he agrees, we will release the film in Kannada. I don’t want anybody else to dub Rajinikanth's voice as his voice is unique and matches his signature mannerisms,” he explained. If the actor agrees, it would take a minimum of two weeks for the Kannada version to be ready.

Special show

A special show of Petta was arranged at 4 a.m. at Urvashi and Sharada theatres by the distributor, especially for the followers of former and sitting MLAs of Chikpet Assembly constituency who are fans of Rajinikanth.

Sources said that there was immense pressure from MLA Uday Garudachar and former MLA R.V. Devaraj. Around 2,000 followers of the two politicians watched the film in the two theatres.
