Police investigate after debris from car hits second car in South West

Police are seeking information after an incident on Bussell Highway around Ludlow on Friday afternoon left a man seriously injured.

Police believe an object came from a white four-wheel-drive towing a large boat, and struck another car as they travelled south around 1.15pm, seriously injuring its driver.

The man, believed to be in his 40s, was seriously injured and was flown to Royal Perth Hospital by the RAC Rescue Helicopter.

He had not yet arrived at the time this story was published.

The female adult passenger and two children in the vehicle were not seriously injured.

Police need to hear from anyone who was travelling on the Bussell Highway on Friday afternoon, or who had dashcam vision that captured the white four-wheel-drive towing a boat.

Anyone with information should call police on 131 444.

Police also warned on Friday afternoon that the Coolgardie-Esperance Highway was closed in both directions about 35 kilometres north of Norseman after a road train's trailer rolled and blocked the highway around 2pm.

The highway was still closed at 4pm and was expected to be closed for an extended period.

Anyone needing to travel in that area was advised to monitor the Main Roads WA website for updates.
