Desi location service provider MapmyIndia launched an intelligent tracking device that can track commercial and public transport vehicles live here on Tuesday.
The device is in line with Ministry of Road, Transport & Highways (MoRTH) directive and notifications. It is also compliant with AIS 140 (Automotive Industry Standard 140) and is certified by ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India), according to a press statement.
The AIS 140 compliant device price starts from ₹9990.
The MapmyIndia AIS 140 complaint devices come loaded with MapmyIndia’s telematics platform “InTouch” integrated with MapmyIndia maps for live tracking, route creations and geo-fence management of commercial vehicles. It also provides reports on the engine vitals, driver behaviour and drive history on optional basis.
The basic device supports accurate live tracking, routing and SoS button response that will be integrated with government server as per MoRTH guidelines. Both the devices can be accessed via a web dashboard and by a native mobile platform.
The tracking product consists of GPS tracking device, one SoS button, embedded SIM card (1 year subscription) and accompanying web and mobile app (android & iOS). In case of any emergency, the accurate location of the vehicle will be displayed, enabling the immediate despatch of an emergency response team. The device will also route the response team to the vehicle by finding the best or the fastest path to the incident location. This will be very critical in minimizing the damage and containing a potential crisis.
Rakesh Verma, Founder and Managing Director, MapmyIndia, said in the press statement that the device is powered by MapmyIndia maps and will also support use cases around predictive maintenance for large fleet of vehicles. “We have also leveraged on our vast and varied experience with the leading automotive companies and our deep understanding of the Indian terrain to develop these products,” he said.
