Somerset Berkley Regional claimed nine first places in defeating Greater New Bedford Voc-Tech 66-16 in South Coast Conference girls' track and field on Wednesday at the Z. Walter Janiak Fieldhouse in New Bedford.

McKenzie Offley won two events, the high jump (4-6) and 300 meters (46.25). Kathleen Martin (shot, 30-8), Nicole Ledwidge (2 miles, 14:24), Kathryn Sullivan (hurdles, 9.2), Ashley Macek (55, 7.6), Julianna Richards (600, 1:54.72), Megan Salsinha (1000, 3:34), Caitlin Lourenco (mile, 6:27) and the 4x400 relay team of Richards, Corryn Fisher, Mia Russ and Offley (5:04) were also winners.

SBR second places came from Macek (high jump, 300), Isabella Rocha (2 miles), Brooke Sullivan (55), Fiona Lyons (600). Third places came from Grace Dube (shot), Abigail Hines (high jump), Thalia Bulhoes (hurdles), Jordan Ramos (1,000), Brooke Sullivan (300) and Lily St. Pierre (mile).

 

BOYS' TRACK AND FIELD

Greater New Bedford 45, Somerset Berkley 41: At the Z. Walter Janiak Fieldhouse in New Bedford, Jeremy Medeiros (hurdles, 8.3), Shane Neto (shot, 45-10) and Aiden Quigley (1000, 2:55) gave the Raiders their individual first places in this South Coast Conference loss.

SBR's relay team of Grady LeMar, Santiago Abrill, Aidan Magnuson and Zack Reeve won the 4x400 relay in 3:55.68. SBR second places came from Conner Robidoux (mile), Cam Almeida (300), Magnuson (600), and Reeve (1,000) while thirds were provdied by Medeiros (55), Aidan Montag (mile), Mark Gagliardi (2 miles), Owen Santos (shot), and Slack and LeMar (tied, high jump).
