The federal government shutdown is turning off the tap for many craft brewers.

The makers of beers from Samuel Adams to Sierra Nevada say they are sitting on suds they can’t bottle and sell—or are holding off on production of new beers—because they don’t have federal approval for some of their new labels or formulas.
