GURUGRAM: A guard has been booked for allegedly thrashing a shopkeeper in the Sector 50 market on Monday.
The shopkeeper has alleged the guard snatched his gold chain, as well.
The accused, Krishna, is a guard at Unitech Rodeo Drive market. The complainant, South City 2 resident Abhilash Bhardwaj, has a shop there. He told police that he was standing in front of his shop on Monday afternoon when Krishna came to the spot. “One of my employees was cleaning my car in front of the shop when the security guard, Krishna, approached and started hurling abuses at him. When I requested him not to do so, he started thrashing me. I have suffered severe injuries on my hands and shoulders, and have bruises all over. He snatched my gold chain too,” Abhilash told police.
He added that the head of security as well as the maintenance manager were present at the time of the incident but didn’t stop Krishna.
On the basis of the complaint filed by Abhilash, an FIR was registered against Krishna under sections 323 (causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC at Sector 50 police station on Wednesday.
“We are looking at the CCTV footage to verify the allegations, after which the accused will be arrested,” said ASI Satish Kumar, the investigating officer in the case.
