The man believed responsible for a sex attack in Surfers Paradise in December has been arrested.

Shortly after midnight on December 12, a 22-year-old woman was walking on The Esplanade, near Eileen Peters Park, when she was approached by a man who allegedly grabbed her inappropriately.

The woman kept walking down The Esplanade and the man was last seen going into a public toilet near the park.

The woman did not have physical injuries as a result of the incident.
