It’s an action packed January for the tourists in the state as this month, there will be two major fairs which will attract not only the domestic tourists but also international tourists. In Jaipur on January 14, kite festival will be held at Jal Mahal Ki Pal.

This festival has become one of the main events of the city for tourists. It’s usually attended by tourists across the world who come to the city just to see this festival and to know the reason behind this celebration. Department of tourism organises this festival and there are mainly two events which attract the tourists, which include kite war and flying in which apart from known kite flyers of the city, many other enthusiasts also participate. Before this festival, camel festival will be organised in Bikaner on January 12 and 13. The events like camel races, camel milking, fur cutting design, best breed competition, camel acrobatics and camel beauty pageant will also be organised.

This Festival in Bikaner is an annual fair dedicated to the ship of the desert. The camels are beautifully bedecked and form a colourful spectacle. There is plenty of scope for eating, souvenir-shopping and photography during this festival. Other sights to watch out include folk dancers, fire dancers and the spectacular fireworks show that lights up the night sky above the Desert City.

Meanwhile, state government is considering a new policy to promote tourism in the state and new tourism circuits will also be developed in the state. Tourism minister Vishvendra Singh recently told during a visit in Dholpur that the main focus of the tourism department will be on development of tourism in Eastern Rajasthan. He said that in last few years, the tourism spots in places like Dholpur and other districts have remained ignored. In the new tourism policy, new circuits will be identified. For this, assistance of tourism department officials and specialists will be taken.

Singh said that there is immense possibility of development of tourism in Dholpur. Pracheen machkund, bihad of Chambal and other religious tourism spots will be developed. This will make the tourists going from Gwalior to Agra stay in Dholpur.
