VISAKHAPATNAM: The special court for SC and ST cases awarded two consecutive life sentences to a 23-year-old man for murdering a woman in 2017.
Judge O Venkata Nageswara Rao convicted Satish for killing his 19-year-old girlfriend Bhavani at his house.
According to additional public prosecutor Saladi Srinivas, Satish and Bhavani were in love and were set to be married.
However, Satish met with an accident and slipped into a coma.
Satish’s parents then adviced Bhavani to return to her home and continue her studies. An advice, which Bhavani heeded to.
But once Satish returned to consciousness and found out that she has not been visiting him regularly, he became angry and suspected her of infidelity.
On the afternoon of July 8, 2017, Satish invited Bhavani home.
After she arrived, Satish attacked her and slit her throat with a piece of glass. He then went on to bludgeon her with a dumbell.
The girl’s parents B Dhilli Rao and Venkata Lakshmi welcomed the decision of the court and said that their daughter’s soul can now rest in peace.
