MUMBAI: The Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) strike will continue on Friday as talks between Union leaders and officials failed on Thursday evening.

BEST Workers Union president Shashank Rao said a meeting was conducted in the presence of Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray, mayor Vishwanath Mahadeshwar, municipal commissioner Ajoy Mehta and BEST general manager Surendrakumar Bagde.

"They have not given any proposals/offers to fulfil our demands. Since workers' problems have been ignored and they have not provided any solution to redress their grievances, we are continuing with the strike," he said.

The strike inconvenienced scores of commuters on day three and people are frustrated to think if the strike continues, it will cause even more hardships.
