Absa Premiership

Rescheduled fixture offers Kaizer Chiefs much needed relief

2019-01-10 07:36

Cape Town - The Absa Premiership have come to the aid of Kaizer Chiefs by agreeing to reschedule one of their upcoming fixtures.

Chiefs secured a 2-0 victory against Wits at the Bidvest Stadium on Wednesday evening but will now jet off to Zambia to face Zesco United in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The match at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium is set for Sunday afternoon, with Amakhosi likely to travel back to Johannesburg on Monday.

That would have given them just one day to prepare for their next league fixture against AmaZulu at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Tuesday.

Mindful of their punishing schedule, the PSL has agreed to provide some relief by shifting the fixture ahead by 24 hours, allowing Chiefs an extra day to train and travel to Durban.
