A 29-year-old suspect appeared in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Thursday for the murder of former Citi Med CEO Dr Louis Siemens.
He was arrested on Wednesday evening at his residence, Colonel Thandi Mbambo said in a statement.
"This follows a warrant of arrest that was issued last year for his alleged involvement in Dr. Siemen’s murder."
Siemens, 52, was murdered in an alleged hit in the basement of the Preller Square parking lot in Bloemfontein, Free State on May 10.
A business associate of Siemens, Kibi Stanley was accused of ordering the hit on Siemens with the help of two policemen.
Two other suspects; a former Advocate Karabo Tau and Sizwe Mpati also appeared in the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court on Thursday for their bail application.
On Wednesday, three other suspects in the murder of Dr Siemens; Constable Molebatsi John Mogoera, 40, Constable Kagisho Ishmael Chabane, 39, and Kibi Stanley Bakili, 36, appeared in court for their bail application.
"Their case is postponed to 25 January 2019 while bail application, which started from 19 November 2018, still continues. All three accused remain in custody," Mbambo added.
Another suspect, Xolisile Mbebeto, 39, was sentenced to 22 years in the Bloemfontein High Court on November 9, 2018 after he admitted guilt in the murder case.
