Heat fielder Ben Cutting positioned himself under Harris' high ball in what seemed to be a well-anticipated catch.

Instead, the cricket ball hurtled past his hands and crashed into his head.

As he fell to the turf, the downed fielder tried to bring the ball in.

An injured Cutting picked himself up and began walking off the turf, blood spilling down his face.

'He's hurt himself,' the commentator said.

As an on-field first-aid officer escorted the injured player off the turf, the commentators tossed up whether or not the fielder had properly caught the ball.

'Has the ball come through the hands here? Did he complete the catch?' a commentator said.

After numerous reviews umpires declared after juggling with the ball, Cutting had ultimately thrown away the catch.
