The cab driver Afzal Mustakeem from Dankaur was allegedly robbed of his Swift Dzire car and was pushed out by four unknown armed passengers, whom he had picked up from Alpha 1 Commercial belt in Kasna while heading towards Ghaziabad.
Mustakeem drives the car for an app-based cab service portal. Around 9.30pm, he received a booking for a drop at Indirapuram. The driver then went to pick up the four persons from Greater Noida’s Alpha 1.
However, after driving for a little while, one of the passengers took out a gun and pointed it at Mustakeem. “They blindfolded me near Maripat railway station near Bisrakh and around 10.30pm, they pushed me out of the car at Dadri bypass road and fled with the vehicle,” said Mustakeem. Similarly, a businessman from Khurja was allegedly robbed of Rs 92,000 when he was returning from a wedding with his brother Anas and friend Shahrukh in his car.
Police said the victim, Sajid, runs a wholesale business of vegetables in Noida’s phase 2 area. Police have registered FIRs in both the cases. “Teams have been formed to search for the accused. We will arrest them soon,” said Vinit Jaiswal, SP (rural).
