AMARAVATI: Strongly suspecting the role of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in bringing a bill proposing reservations to the economically backward classes, Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu has asked the party leaders to be alert to unearth the conspiracies of the RSS. He said that the RSS has been floating several conspiracies across the country putting the BJP government as its front and he also alleged that RSS had turned the country into a field of conspiracies.
Interacting with the party leaders here on Wednesday, Naidu was surprised at the way the EBC reservations bill was brought to Parliament at the eleventh hour. “We will support the bill if their intensions are really to support the poor among the upper castes. We will not hesitate to take on the Centre if the bill is being brought to create troubles to the already existing reservations to the SCs, STs and OBCs,” Naidu said.
He said that the Constitution has allowed implementation of the reservations based on the social backwardness and the BJP government had stirred the hornet’s nest by proposing reservations based on the economic backwardness. Although TDP is not opposing the reservations to EBCs, Naidu suspected that the BJP’s real intensions behind the act. He said that TDP would not hesitate to take on the Centre if it makes any attempt to tinker with the existing reservations and rights of the SC, ST, BC and minorities.
Naidu said that TDP would also press for reservations to Kapus and inclusion of Boyas in ST list. He asked the party leaders to be guarded in protection of the rights of all sections of the society.
Naidu also asked the party leaders to take up campaign on Babu Baata-Bangaru Baata and Jagan baata-Jailu Baata. He ridiculed YSRCP chief Jaganmohan Reddy over bringing a book on the alleged corrupt practices in the state while he himself is facing charges for amassing public money. He said that several IAS officers were jailed and many others were roaming around the courts due to the illegal activities of Jagan. He found fault with Jagan for not uttering a word about Jayaprakash Narayana committee which clearly said that Centre had to cough up Rs 75,000 crore to the state. Naidu asked the party leaders to shun the differences and work together for the party’s victory in the next elections.
