Three-year-old girl sexually assaulted, abandoned in Hazira
TNN | Jan 11, 2019, 04:00 ISTSurat: A three-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by an unidentified person here on Thursday. The profusely bleeding girl was found abandoned in the bushes. She has been admitted to New Civil Hospital.
Cops began the process to register a case of sexual assault and rape with the minor girl at Hazira police station on Thursday night after confirmation of the brutal crime by doctors at NCH. Doctors have found blood and also accused’s sperm on the minor’s body, who has suffered serious injuries on her private parts.
The minor girl was found a kilometre away from her house in Hazira village. She was brought to her house by a 19-year-old teenager who informed her family members that some other youth had handed over the girl to him. The family then contacted 108 and immediately shifted her to hospital.
The girl had gone missing at around 3pm while playing outside her house. The family realized that she was missing almost after an hour. Meanwhile, the girl was brought home by the youth in blood-stained clothes at around 5.30pm.
“We are questioning the youth who had brought the girl home. We are trying to get details about the other youth who had handed over the girl to this 19-year-old youth,” city police commissioner Satish Sharma told TOI.
There is police nakabandhi at various locations in the city to nab the person involved in the crime. Crime branch teams have also joined the investigation. Cops have begun collecting CCTV footages of the area to identify the kidnapper, sources said.
