Security beefed up in Rohtak ahead of Dera chief verdict

ROHTAK: Two days before a CBI court pronouces its verdict in a murder case against Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, police beefed up security here on Wednesday.
Rohtak superintendent of police Jashandeep Singh Randhawa said they were prepared to handle any violence which breaks out in case Ram Rahim is convicted of the November 2002 murder of journalist Ram Chander Chhatrapati in Sirsa.
Rahim will appear before the CBI court in Panchkula via video-conferencing. Barriers have also been set up near Sunaria jail here, where Ram Rahim is serving a 20-year jail term for raping two woman devotees.
Police have intensified patrolling around the jail. The force has even roped in drones to scan areas.
