The service will enable people to get verifications reports without visiting police station

Obtaining police verification report for various purposes has become easy with the Tamil Nadu Police unveiling the online police verification service across the State on Wednesday.

Now the citizens or private companies need not visit the police station for the verification report. Individuals and companies/institutions could get self verification, job verification, tenant verification and domestic help verification reports by visiting the portal www.eservices.tnpolice.gov.in.

The main aim of the online police verification services is to check the identity of an applicant, to confirm the present address, and to see whether the applicant was involved in any criminal case as per records available with Tamil Nadu Police. The service will be applicable only for verifying the person who are residents of Tamil Nadu.

The applicants will be charged ₹500 for individuals and ₹500 for private companies or institutions, and the amount can be paid using credit/debit cards or through net banking.

After applying for the police verification report, the applicant can track the status. The verification process will be completed within 15 days from the date of the receipt of the application. The applicant will get a copy of the report on their registered email id. They can also download the report from the portal. Each police verification report will have QR code and unique number to avoid forging of the document.

Inspector General of Police (West Zone) K. Periaiah introduced the service in Coimbatore rural in the presence of G. Karthikeyan, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Coimbatore range) and R. Pandiarajan, Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore District (Rural) Police. Mr. Periaiah handed over online police verification reports to two applicants at the launch of the service.

In the city, Commissioner of Police Sumit Sharan introduced the service and handed over the first online police verification report to a woman from R.S. Puram.
