The State government will shortly take up work on four-laning the road between K.S. Hegde Hospital in Deralakatte and Kuthar Junction, Urban Development and Dakshina Kannada in-charge Minister U.T. Khader said here on Wednesday.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Khader said that the four-laning work between Deralakatte and K.S. Hegde Hospital has been completed at a cost of ₹ 3 crore. The foundation stone for the road widening work between the hospital and Kuthar Junction will be laid soon.
The Minister said that ₹ 3 crore has been earmarked under the State Highway Development Project for widening the road between Kuthar Junction and Thokkotu Junction. “I will get additional funds for this work,” he added.
The Minister said that approval has been given for building a permanent break-wall, restructuring of beach and rehabilitation works on the stretch between Subash Nagar, Kaiko and Hillary Nagar in Ullal at a cost of ₹ 21.09 crore using Asian Development Bank loan funds.
