Cape Town - South Africa's Kevin Anderson will meet Frenchman Adrian Mannarino in the first round of the Australian Open, which gets under way next week.
The draw for the tournament took place on Thursday.
Anderson, the No 5 seed for the tournament, will be heavily favoured to get through against Mannarino, who was knocked out in the third round in 2018 in what was his best ever performance at the Australian Open.
Anderson and Mannarino, the world's 41st-ranked player, have faced each other on five previous occasions at ATP Tour level.
Anderson holds a 4-1 advantage with all five matches played on hard court. This will be the first occasion they have met in a Grand Slam.
Should Anderson win, he will face either American Frances Tiafoe or a yet to be determined qualifier in the second round while a date with No 31-seeded American Steve Johnson is on the cards in the third round.
A fourth-round clash against Grigor Dimitrov or the big-serving John Isner is possible, while if Anderson gets through to the quarter-finals he could come across Rafael Nadal while defending champion Roger Federer is the likely opponent in the semi-finals.
Anderson has played in two Grand Slam finals in the last two years - the US Open in 2017 and Wimbledon in 2018.
