Hyderabad Airport adds 26 new parking slots for aircraft

: Twenty six new parking stands for aircraft have been commissioned at the International airport here, enhancing handling capacity by 45 per cent, the said Wednesday.

With the addition of these stands, spread over 65,000 square meters, the airport now has 83 parking stands, up from the earlier 57 (47 remote and 10 aerobridges), a release said.

"With the phenomenal growth in passenger and cargo throughput, as well as aircraft movements, and the resulting fleet expansions there is a rising demand for aircraft parking stands by airlines.

Our expansion plan has proactively accommodated all these conditions to ensure enhanced service quality and faster turnaround times," S G K Kishore, of GMR Hyderabad Airports Ltd. (GHIAL), said.

(GHIAL) is the company that operates the city airport.
