Talks on between Shiv Sena union and BEST management on workers issues

MUMBAI: Lakhs of commuters were hit hard on Wednesday as the indefinite BEST bus strike entered its second day even as the BEST management called upon Shiv Sena union leaders for talks on workers issues at the its headquarter in Electric House, Colaba.
Since the Shiv Sena union had withdrawn its support to the strike, the administration is willing to hold discussions with the leaders. The meeting began at 11.15 am.
Shiv Sena union leader Suhas Samant said that around 15 BEST buses have been operated since morning. He was confident of resolving workers issues at meeting with GM at Electric House.
“The issues are merger of budgets, seventh pay commission implementation, bonus payment and gradation of junior staff,” Samant said.
He was confident that there will be some outcome in 3-4 days.
According to BEST muster, 13 drivers and 15 conductors have reported for duty till 9 am and a total 10 buses operated in city.
