Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN) has won the media mandates of Chinese smartphone manufacturer
Oppo Mobile and its sister brand
OnePlus, according to people aware of the development.
The two brands’ combined annual media spend will be about Rs 550-600 crore.
DAN will handle the traditional, digital and out-of-home (OOH) advertising requirements of the two brands.
Ashish Bhasin, DAN’s chairman for South Asia, declined to comment.
Oppo Mobile had called for a multi-agency media pitch in September last year, while OnePlus had initiated the pitch in December.
The persons cited earlier said leading agencies including IPG Mediabrands, GroupM, Havas Media and DAN had participated in the pitch process.
Starcom Mediavest was the incumbent media agency of both Oppo Mobiles and OnePlus.
Oppo is also the jersey sponsor of Indian cricket team. It has picked up the five-year rights for 1,079 crore. Oppo has signed Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, R Ashwin, Deepika Padukone and Sidharth Malhotra as brand ambassadors. Amitabh Bachchan has been the brand ambassador for OnePlus.
