PUNE: It seems that the ward members and chief executive officer of the Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) do not want to take back step to win the fight against not getting GST share from the government. For the first time, they met Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday and received a positive reply from him.

On January 3, eight ward members had a meeting with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and discussed the issue of allocation of share of Goods and Service Tax (GST) to the PCB and have submitted a memorandum. The minister accepted the memorandum and said that the State Government is the statutory authority to allocate the share of GST. He also assured that he will have a word with the chief minister about the same.

In reference with the same, the ward members along with DN Yadav, Chief Executive Officer of Pune cantonment had a meeting with Fadnavis for the first time to discuss and solve the issue of GST.

Yadav, said, “Today I along with the other ward members met the chief minister. We discussed all the disadvantages of not getting GST share. He patiently listened to us and gave a positive reply saying that the Pune cantonment will get its GST share very soon. The file was given to the Urban Development Department.”

Elated with an affirmative response from the CM, Yadav expressed that the GST share problem would be resolved soon.
