Singapore Airlines is boosting its flights to and from Milan to once per day starting June 24, giving travellers flying out of Singapore a Monday flight and those departing Milan a flight on Tuesday that were previously unavailable to them.
Currently, Singapore Airlines flies six times per week between Singapore and Milan Malpensa (MXP), though it does so in a rather curious fashion utilising two different flight numbers that vary depending on the day of the week but nevertheless share the same schedule.
As of June 24, both flights departing Singapore (SQ378 and SQ356) will do so at 2330 and arrive in MXP that morning at 0610. The return flights out of MXP (SQ377 and SQ355) will depart at 1300 and arrive back in Singapore at 0700 the following morning.

Passengers flying out of Milan with Singapore Airlines also now have the option of visiting fellow Star Alliance carrier Lufthansa’s newly opened lounge at MXP.
As with the current six weekly flights, the additional seventh will be operated by Singapore Airlines’ Airbus A350-900 aircraft, configured for long-haul travel. These aircraft are laid out with 42 business class seats (pictured above) in a 1-2-1 set up, 24 premium economy seats (pictured below) laid out eight across in a 2-4-2 format, and 187 economy class seats in a nine-across 3-3-3 set up.

Singapore Airlines recently took delivery of two other types of A350 aircraft; its A350-900ULR (ultra long haul) variant featuring only business and premium economy class seating, and a new batch of A350-900s outfitted for medium-haul travel featuring the airline’s new regional business class seat product.
The A350-900ULR debuted last year on Singapore Airlines’ revived non-stop service to New York, now the longest commercial route in the world. Business Traveller Asia-Pacific was onboard the inaugural flight on October 11 last year to review the service.
The new-configuration medium-haul A350-900s, meanwhile, have begun flying to destinations in Australia, notably Adelaide and, as of yesterday, Brisbane.
