Chandrapur: Two persons, including wife of a police inspector posted in Gadchiroli, were killed and three others critically injured as a speeding car rammed into a roadside tree at Keslaghat on Chandrapur-Mul road on Tuesday evening.

The victims include Akanksha Mali (27) and Pawan Nannaware.


According sources, Akanksha along with her two-year-old son Ansh and other relatives had left Solapur for Gadchiroli to meet her husband Sachin Mali. While they were in the final leg of their journey, the driver lost control over the vehicle while crossing Keslaghat and the car rammed into a roadside tree. Akanksha and Pawan Nannaware were killed on the spot, while Ansh, Sagar Shinde and Nitin Wadhai sustained serious injuries.


The injured trio was rushed to Chandrapur Government Medical College and Hospital. Critically injured Ansh was later shifted to a private hospital.
